Post Procedure Care of Camouflage Permanent Cosmetics

Your Permanent Cosmetics have been applied with sterile single service needles, using the finest colors available. The end result of this procedure depends greatly on your follow up with proper care during the healing process! If you have any questions, please call (925) 200-2347.

5 DAYS POST-PROCEDURE CARE:

  • DO NOT SCRUB OR RUB!
  • If your camouflage is on your face, change your pillowcase when you get home, to a clean “non-designer” style pillowcase. We don’t want any previous body oils or cosmetics to rub into your new permanent cosmetics. Please be advised that any pigment residue could stain your pillowcase for at least 1-week after your appointment.
  • Absolutely NO soaps, cleansing creams, or chemicals may be applied to the pigmented area(s)!
  • Apply a THIN veil of A & D Ointment, Vaseline, or supplied cream at least 2 times daily (More IS NOT better with after care Ointments!). It is especially important to apply the thin veil to the area each morning and at each bedtime for 5 days. IF you start to notice increased redness 1 to 2 days following treatment DISCONTINUE the ointment and contact us.
  • DO NOT apply ANY product to the treated area for at least 5 days (except supplied ointments/creams).
  • DO NOT soak the treated area(s) in a bathtub, hot tub, or swimming pool.
  • DO NOT expose treated areas to the sun.
  • DO NOT scratch or pick any crusted or scabbed area(s).

FOR 30 DAYS (POST-PROCEDURE CARE) all month:

  • NO chemicals may be applied to the pigmented area (including soaps, cleansers, lotions, etc) except supplied ointments/creams. Ignoring these precautions within the first 30 days will only strip out some of the color before your skin has had a chance to heal totally. Your camouflage permanent cosmetics will be deteriorated if you do not treat it as described in these aftercare instructions.

LIFETIME (POST-PROCEDURE CARE):

  • Avoid exposure of treated area(s) to the sun or UV rays of a tanning bed.
  • If sun exposure is expected, a tip is to use “Chapstick with 30 SPF” (or any 30 spf or greater sunscreen) and apply it to your treated area before going in the sun!
  • Avoid using chemical peels, microdermabrasion & exfoliating scrubs to treated areas.
  • The use of Retin A, Glycolic Acid, and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, can jeopardize the integrity of your permanent cosmetics. Please keep these products ½” away from your treated areas at all times!

REMEMBER:

  • The treated area(s) will appear very exact, dark, intense, bright, and more sharply defined immediately after the procedure. It may appear to be too dark on your initial saturation visit, however when the healing progresses, the colors will soften and blend.
  • A touch-up or maintenance appointment(s) to refine and perfect your new look may be made anytime after four weeks following the initial procedure, and may be required occasionally throughout your lifetime due to sun exposure and expected fading. This is to be expected and is normal and customary.
