Post Procedure Care of Eyeliner Permanent Cosmetics

Your Permanent Cosmetics have been applied with sterile single service needles, using the finest colors available. The end result of this procedure depends greatly on your follow up with proper care during the healing process! If you have any questions, please call (925) 200-2347.

IMMEDIATE (POST-PROCEDURE CARE):

  • Apply ice packs or cold packs to the treated area for the first few hours following the treatment (5 minutes on & 5 minutes off). As desired for comfort (this is optional not mandatory).
  • Change your pillowcase when you get home, to a clean “non-designer” style pillowcase. We don’t want any previous body oils or cosmetics to rub into your new permanent cosmetics. Please be advised that any pigment residue could stain your pillowcase for at least 1-week after your appointment.
  • If area is swollen the morning after the treatment, apply ice packs. Due to sleeping in a horizontal position, swelling will be its most obvious first thing the morning after your procedure. So during your morning ice routine, try to be vertical in a seated or standing position.
  • If area is swollen the morning after the treatment, avoid wearing contact lenses.

THE MORNING AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE:

  • Use the provided Celluvisc Eye Drops. Apply the provided ice packs (if desired). Ice packs are not mandatory.

FOR 5 DAYS (POST PROCEDURE CARE):

  • Gently clean treated area morning and evening with tepid clear water and your clean fingertips. Pat Dry. DO NOT SCRUB OR RUB!
  • Absolutely NO soaps, cleansing creams, or chemicals may be applied to the pigmented area(s)!
  • Apply a THIN veil of A & D Ointment or Vaseline at least 2 to 3 times daily (More IS NOT better with after care Ointments!). It is especially important to apply the thin veil after cleaning the area each morning and at bedtime. IF you start to notice increased redness 1 to 2 days following treatment DISCONTINUE the ointment and contact us.
  • DO NOT wear mascara for at least 5 days. If you purchase a new tube of mascara, you may begin wearing it after 3 full days (instead of 5 days). DO NOT wear any type of “Waterproof” mascara for 30 days (1 month).
  • DO NOT soak the treated area(s) in a bathtub, hot tub, or swimming pool.
  • DO NOT expose treated areas to the sun or tanning beds.
  • DO NOT scratch or pick any crusted or scabbed area(s).

FOR 30 DAYS (POST-PROCEDURE CARE) all month:

  • DO NOT use ANY type of makeup remover. DO NOT USE BABY OIL AS A MAKE UP REMOVER THIS MONTH!
  • Absolutely NO soaps, cleansing creams, lotions, moisturizers or chemicals may be applied to the pigmented area(s)! Doing so within the first 30 days will only strip out some of the color before your skin has had a chance to heal totally. Keep these items at least ½” away from your eyeliner during this first month.
  • DO NOT use ANY type “Saline” solution for your contacts. Saline is a salt product and will lighten your eyeliner if used during the 30 day healing process. Instead, you may use an eye irrigation solution as a substitute until your eyeliner is fully healed.

LIFETIME (POST-PROCEDURE CARE):

  • The use of ANY type of “ Make-Up Remover” (Name-Brand does not matter) may jeopardize the longevity of your permanent eyeliner!!!
  • Avoid exposure of treated area(s) to the sun or UV rays of a tanning bed.
  • Avoid using chemical peels & exfoliating scrubs to treated areas.
  • The use of Retin A, Glycolic Acid, and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids can jeopardize the integrity of your permanent cosmetics. Please keep these products ½” away from your eyeliner at all times!

REMEMBER:

  • The treated area(s) will appear very exact, dark, intense, bright, and more sharply defined immediately after the procedure. It may appear to be too dark on your initial saturation visit, however when the healing progresses, the colors will soften and blend.
  • A perfection visit appointment to refine and finish your new look may be made four weeks following the initial procedure. There is no charge for this “perfection visit” if done within 90 days of the initial procedure.
